From looking at all of these different blogs I learned that kids actually picked things that they truly loved. Some were extremely upset that they wouldn't be able to finish their projects. They realized that they couldn't finish their entire project in the nine months given to us because their projects were too complex but many of them said that they were going to continue this project even after they graduate. The ones who couldn't finish them said they were still very proud they accomplished as much as they did. I also learned that these kids worked on it way more than we did and are going to. I also learned that in order to enjoy doing something like this you have to find something you are willing to pursue and actually finish.
I can use this knowledge to impact my project in that I need to spend more time on it. I need to free myself of all stress, relax and work on this project. I personally believe I have found something that isn't too complex but is still hard enough that I will actually have to work on it. Realizing that these kids really loved what they were doing made me realize that they only way I'll work on it is if it's something I would enjoy. My something is helping people. This also made me understand that we have our freedom to do whatever we want and how every we want to accomplish this. I need to take advantage of this freedom and work to successfully finish my project.
The progress that I still need to make is that I have to pick a board that I will be able to get and I, an inexperienced person, can actually work with. I need to find a quote that I will want people to look at every day. I want to try and have it relate to everyone as best as I possibly can. I need to make sure I, or my dad, has all of the tools I will need to complete this task. I need to know the best way to put the boards together and make sure they will not break over a long period of time. Most of all though I need to get more information on wood. In my opinion I believe someone can truly never know too much information on one thing.
